Police found 27 cannabis plants in Havant garden shed

Police went to Daniel Dubber’s home in Littlegreen Avenue, Havant, after receiving a tip-off.

The 25-year-old’s former partner let police in and they found 27 plants at three different stages of growth.

James Kellam, prosecuting, said: ‘They were growing in a purpose-built tent with heating and lighting apparatus as well, the equipment of a sort which is fairly widely available online and in shops.’

In police interview, Dubber said his former partner knew nothing about the plants, Mr Kellam said.

Dubber has appeared in court on seven occasions for 13 offences, Portsmouth Crown Court heard.

Sentencing, Judge Linda Sullivan QC handed Dubber a nine-month prison term.

This was suspended for two years.

He must also pay £340 prosecution costs and complete 25 days of rehabilitation activities.

The judge said: ‘You’ve pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity and admitted your guilt.’

She added: ‘The drugs will be forfeited and destroyed.’

Dubber pleaded guilty to one charge of producing cannabis, a class B drug.

The court heard that police found the drugs on December 4 last year.

Howard Barrington Clarke, defending, said of Dubber: ‘He has turned his life around, he is working.’

No value of the discovered drugs was given in court.
