Police to begin enforcing 30mph on Havant Road, Hayling Island

SPEED enforcement is to begin on a road with a new controversial speed limit.

Until now police have been unable to enforce the 30mph along Havant Road, Hayling Island, because they have to give the public three months to adjust.

PC Simon Smith, from Havant district police, said: ‘This period is now over and the road is now enforceable.

‘I remind you all to bear in mind your speed for this road.’

An operation was carried out last week and the top speed recorded was 58mph.
