The pair, who are 28 and 32 and both from Portsmouth, and who have not been named, were arrested yesterday evening after the death of the teenager, who has been named locally as Ollie Blatcher.
Mr Blatcher is thought to have been assaulted in Fratton, before going to a home in Sackville Street, Southsea, where he collapsed.
Police said he had suffered significant injuries.
Paramedics were called and he was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham, and later died.
