Portsmouth teenager, 18, charged with dangerous driving after a police chase from Paulsgrove to Hilsea

A TEENAGER from Portsmouth has been charged with driving dangerously while disqualified after a police chase across the city.

The pursuit began on Saturday July 3 when patrolling officers attempted to stop a black Vauxhall Astra on Allaway Avenue, after the car was flagged as being uninsured.

But the driver failed to stop for police, resulting in a pursuit that ended with the Astra being boxed in by several police vehicles in Northern Parade.

Now 18-year-old Keiron Mills, from Mayo Close, Portsmouth, has been charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving without insurance, and driving whilst disqualified.

A 16-year-old boy from Portsmouth was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, possession of a Class B drug, and driving whilst unfit through drugs.

Officer’s gave him advice regarding drug possession and no further action will be taken against him.

Mills has been bailed to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on 16 August.
