Probe launched after boy hurt in hit and run

A TEENAGER was injured in a hit and run.

An investigation has been launched after a white van was in collision with a 14-year-old boy.

The incident happened in Tukes Avenue, Gosport, at about 4.40pm on Friday.

The boy was crossing Tukes Avenue with a group of teenagers, close the junction of Lapthorn Close, when he was struck by a white van.

The van did not stop at the scene.

The crash left the boy with a suspected broken ankle.

Police have interviewed the boy and are now seeking more information.

Officers have examined the scene where the crash happened.

PC Christopher Connor, from the Eastern Roads Policing Unit, said: ‘We would like to trace the driver of this van and anyone who was in the Tukes Avenue area yesterday at this time who may have witnessed this incident.

‘Did you see a group of teenagers crossing the road around this time?

‘Did you see a white van travelling on Tukes Avenue? We would like to hear from you.’
