REGIONAL: Man to appear in court accused of trying to stab woman, 36, to death

A man suspected of attempting to stab a woman to death has been charged by police.

Liam Hanley, 32, will appear before court accused of the attempted murder of a 36-year-old woman in Shoreham Beach, West Sussex, on Tuesday evening.

Sussex police were alerted at 8.15pm to reports of a victim with multiple stab wounds, following the alleged attack at a property on Sussex Wharf.

She was taken to hospital in a serious, but not life-threatening condition.

The man will appear in court next week

The defendant, of no fixed address, was charged on Thursday night, police said.

He will come before Crawley Magistrates' Court on Friday, according to the force.
