Spate of Gosport burglaries lead to missing games consoles, guitars, jewellery and phones

POLICE are calling for residents to be vigilant following a spate of burglaries in a town.

Between March 8 and March 27, five burglaries have taken place across Gosport, with officers warning that some of the items stolen may have already been put up for sale.

The first burglary, which happened between the evening of March 8 and March 9, took place in Willis Road.

There was then two burglaries overnight between March 18 and the following morning, in Mayfield Road and Dolphin Crescent.

The final two in the series happened during the night of March 26 and the next morning.

Games consoles, guitars, laptops, jewellery and mobile phones were all taken during the burglaries.

A spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses following a series of five burglaries at homes in Gosport.

‘Each of the incidents took place overnight, between March 8 and March 27.

‘Officers investigating the burglaries are keen to speak with anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in these roads, or who may have CCTV footage from these days.

‘Or maybe you have seen, or been offered, items from the list above for sale?’

Police have urged people to lock all windows, doors and gates, keep keys out of sight, leave a light on in their homes and record the serial numbers of their electronic goods.

Anyone with information about any of these incidents is asked to contact police on 101, quoting the crime reference number 44200112341.
