Speeders caught in motorcycle operation

NEARLY 140 people were stopped for speeding in a police operation on motorcyclists.

Figures were revealed for Hampshire police’s Op Ardvasar, run last March to October after an MP called for average speed cameras to be installed on the A32 and A272. The operation is running again this year.

Police put 660 hours into policing the A32 and nearby roads in the operation, with 238 offences seen; 135 were speeding related.

George Hollingbery, Meon Valley MP, met with crime commissioner Michael Lane.

Mr Lane said: ‘We’re looking for an approach that will improve safety.’
