Three in four house burglaries are unsolved

More than three in four burglaries on homes in Hampshire went unsolved in a two-year period - but the county's police force still had one of the best solving rates in the country.

Home Office statistics show that Hampshire police solved just over 24 per cent of dwelling burglaries s in 2013-14. It is the fifth best rate in the country.

But the force solved only seven per cent of non-dwelling burglaries in the same year, ranking it as 13th worst in the country.
