Trial fixed for man accused of throwing flare at Portsmouth FC clash with Southampton FC

A MAN accused of hurling a flare at clash between Pompey and Southampton has had his trial adjourned.

Dean Baigrie is accused of throwing the flare during a match between the Solent rivals at Fratton Park on September 24.

The 40-year-old, of Taplings Close, Winchester, denies possessing a firework/flare at a sporting event and throwing a missile onto a football playing area.

His trial was due to take place on Friday at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court but was adjourned until July 13.

Baigrie, dressed in black jeans and a black zip-up hoodie, was granted unconditional bail by magistrates.
