Warsash man charged with invading Fratton Park pitch

A MAN has been charged after a football fan ran on to the pitch during Pompey's match with Hull City.

Benedict Joseph Adriano Placidi, 19, of Warsash Road, Warsash, was charged with going onto the playing area at a football match under the Football Offences Act 1991.

The invader ran on to the pitch from the Fratton end in the second half during a break in play.

Pompey were fined 10,000 euros when a fan invaded the pitch during their match with AC Milan in 2008.

A Pompey spokesman said: ‘It’s important realise these actions are compromising us at a time when we least need it.

‘It is entirely irresponsible.’
