TRAINING for a field gun competition is set to begin next month for the summer contest.

HMS Collingwood in Fareham will open its doors to crews across the UK and Gibraltar to compete in The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity Field Gun Competition for the Brickwoods Trophy.

The competition requires 18-man teams to run, dismantle, reassemble and fire the gun in the shortest possible time.

The event will take place at Saturday, June 2 with an Interactive Zone including helicopters, hands-on activites including navigating a ship into harbour on our Warship Bridge Simulator and a high rope challenge for spectators to enjoy.
