HMS Queen Elizabeth made her second trip into Portsmouth today, and here are some of the best pictures to mark the occasion.

The 65,000-tonne carrier had been away from the city for a second period of sea trials but returned ahead of it being formally commissioned into the navy on December 7.

Thousands of people gathered to watch the carrier as it first arrived into Portsmouth back in August, and many watched on today as it sailed in again.
