Portsmouth Festivities: Multimedia art installation in Portsmouth will mark 475 years since Mary Rose sank
It comes after the Portsmouth Festivities project, named Submerged, received a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant.
The carers, aged 11 to 18, will collaborate with artists Linda Mason and Ricky Tart over three months of workshops at the Portsmouth Carers Centre’s Young Carers clubs in Southsea.

Erica Smith, director of Portsmouth Festivities, said: ‘Our festival is all about the community and so we are very passionate to continue our work with the Young Carers.
‘This is their time for them, to create, have fun and learn new creative skills.
‘The exhibition is going to be a great addition to the museum and to our festival.’

The work will go on display at the Mary Rose Museum itself from June 12 to June 21
The grant that has made the project possible comes from cash raised by players of the National Lottery.
A whopping £23m of lottery funding helped make the £35m launch of the museum possible.
The Mary Rose sank at the Battle of the Solent in 1545 after more than 30 years of active service.
She was the only English ship lost in the battle and, of hundreds, just 35 people survived.
