Demolition of former police headquarters building

A DEVELOPER is set to demolish former police headquarters to make way for more than 200 homes.

Hampshire police moved out of their offices in Winchester into a building in Eastleigh shared with Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Now the current owner, Berkeley Homes, wants to demolish the building, which dates back 50 years.

The former headquarters in Romsey Road, Winchester, is due to be replaced with 190 flats and 18 townhouses.

No date has been set for the demolition.
