Epic cycle challenge acrossMadagascar for good cause

Emily Cooper is doing it on behalf of Wave 105 Cash for Kids – and is calling on others to help smash her fundraising target.

Emily, who works as a wedding co-ordinator at the Langstone Hotel in Hayling Island, hopes her epic adventure will raise £2,500 for the worthy cause.

And she is within touching distance of her goal.

The 26-year-old will cycle 280 miles through the diverse terrain of the island off the east coast of Africa over five-and-a-half days in May to help support the 54,000 children in the Solent region who are financially, socially, emotionally or physically disadvantaged.

Emily said: ‘I’m so excited for the adventure that lies ahead. Not only does the Madagascar cycle give me the chance to see a new country and meet new people, it gives me the opportunity to conquer a physically and emotionally demanding challenge, while raising much-needed funds for children in need.

‘I’m training three times a week and have plenty of long-distance cycles organised so I can build up the physical endurance needed.

‘Between saddle sores and my fear of flying, I have a few terrors to face but it will all be worth it.
