Flooding causes problems in Titchfield

FLOODING has caused problems as cars got stuck in water.

A tractor was called in to rescue vehicles in Titchfield after heavy flooding in Bridge Street.

Police in Fareham said a number of roads were shut at 6pm after flooding at Pook Lane at its junction with Spurlings Road.

Officers closed the roads at junctions with Wickham Road, Boarhunt Road and junction 11 of the M27.

‘The water is moving fast and cars have already had to be removed by tractor,’ police said on Twitter.

‘Please don’t try to access this area for your own safety.’

Hill Head Coastguard said: ‘Take care in area and be a courteous driver to others.’

Elsewhere a van was destroyed in a fire eastbound between junction 9 and 10 on the M27 at 6.08pm.

Earlier in the evening lane two and three were shut after a crash at junction 11
