Gosport knitting group show volunteer act of kindness
VOLUNTEER Joseph Miller was left speechless when a wool jumper started by his late wife was finished by a kind knitting group.
Joseph, known as Dusty, donated his jumper to the Red Hat Knitters who meet at the Diving Museum in Gosport.
The group use unwanted wool to make hats and other items. But rather than unravel Dusty’s half-finished jumper, they completed it. When the group next met, member Helen- Ann Wilson-Reid surprised Dusty with the jumper, leaving him speechless and tearful.
A spokeswoman from the museum, where Dusty volunteers, said: ‘Kindness runs in the veins of the Red Hat Knitting Group.’
They meet every Saturday at 11am.
