Hampshire charity hosting pop-up clubs across area

POP-UP clubs are being held to give older people the chance to socialise.

The new clubs organised by Brendoncare will allow visitors to see what the Hampshire-based charity offers during their weekly sessions.

The taster days will have a range of activities showcasing a small portion of the Brendoncare Clubs, which support more than 1,700 members.

Edwin Ingleton, head of club services, said: ‘Brendoncare’s clubs already reach many vulnerable older people.

‘However, we are committed to improving our engagement with all sectors of our communities, especially those at increased risk of loneliness.

‘We would like to invite people along to the pop-up sessions to get a flavour of our clubs.’

The first pop-up clubs will be on May 26 at Portchester Methodist Church, Castle Street, at 2.15pm; May 27 at the Lions’ Donkey Derby on Legion Field, Hayling Island, between 1pm and 5pm and on July 1 at Ferneham Hall, in Fareham, between 10am and 2pm.
