Hampshire '˜one of the friendliest' counties

COMMUNITIES in Hampshire are among the friendliest in the UK, according to a new survey.

Research published by retirement firm Audley Villages suggests that 44 per cent of those living in Hampshire think their community is very or quite friendly, one county below Buckinghamshire which topped the list at 64 per cent.

The survey showed that a third of Hampshire's inhabitants claim nothing could improve their home town, with desirable characteristics for communities including regular activities, community groups and volunteering schemes.

Paul Morgan from Audley Villages said: '˜Community is still a hugely important part of people's lives, regardless of age or location.

'˜When planning our retirement villages, including Audley Stanbridge Earls, we strive to ensure that community is at the heart of everything we do, whether that's for owners, staff or our neighbours in the local area.'
