Hardyman & Co grab joy from a real billiards thriller

Andrews, Greg Harding and skip Hardyman dominated the doubles but Phil Skinner did not deserve to be on the losing team after a brave double.

Craneswater A thrashed their Q team 8-1 and are back on top of the division one chart.

Andy Boulton led by example with a 46 on his way to a double.

Colin Rowe, Mike Talmondt, Tony Hansford and Chris Bishop also bagged a brace and the only point Ian Carter's side got was from a walkover.

Copnor A enjoyed a clean sweep in the pair to brush Portchester X aside 6-3.

Mark Kingswell, Andy Macey and Matt James won early on for the Castlemen before a trio of Lee Eden, Mick Hall and Steve Toms won the second racks after the break.

Copnor D look nailed on for the silverware in division two after three straight wins.

Ian Carter and Ade Binding pushed Craneswater Z  to their first win by the odd rack for a 5-4 success. The Craneswater R duo kept their side in with a chance with two each.

Alexandra Bowls slipped up at North End Bowls losing 6-3 and now only have a share of the leadership in division three.

Ade Pledge's men won four singles then Mike Dorey and Ian Pledge grabbed their second to break their duck.

Copnor B scraped in 5-4 to move up as Pompey Royals visited.

Dave Chivers won the first on the black but Derek Foster equalised.

Martyn Challacombe  and Stacey Wearn shared the next two before Chad Wainwright and Phil Ledington did the same for 3-3. Foster and Wearn won the last frame to take the glory.

Cowplain were too clever for The Misfits winning 7-2  in the lowest tier.

Gary Curtis, son James and Will Garrett won two but Doug Powell won three thanks to the new rules when a team is a man short.

Al's Club chalked up win number three to share the lead.

Craneswater Dandy battled all the way in a tense encounter at Portchester.

Newcomer Tom Sparks and Brian Elsegood were great for the city outfit.

However, their efforts were in vain as Jamie Farrell won twice and steel the spotlight.
