Hayling ferry bus hits the road with bank holiday trial

A NEW bus service to and from the Hayling Ferry will be trialled this weekend.

The bank holiday test of the route on Hayling Island starts today at 9.30am, and will run until 6pm on Monday.

After holding talks with operator Emsworth & District last month, Hayling Island Labour Party is hoping that the trial will encourage a financial subsidy from Hampshire County Council towards a permanent service.

The bus, which runs in 40-minute cycles, will call at Eastoke Corner, Beachlands & Ferry Point. Tickets cost £1.
