Hospital saves teen's sight

AN EYE hospital in Whiteley came to the aid of a youngster who was put into a coma after a devastating brain injury on holiday.

Andover teen Johnny Blaxland suffered loss of sight in his left eye and had to walk with a zimmer frame after a ski backflip in Switzerland went wrong during his gap year.

Set to attend Exeter University imminently, the night occurred earlier this year '“ but the 19-year-old now has '˜better than 20/20 vision' thanks to the efforts of Optegra Eye Hospital.

The site identified and operated on Johnny's Terson's Syndrome '“ which had caused a bleed in his eye as well as peripheral tears and a cyst.
