M27 delays as tree falls on carriageway

A FALLEN tree partially blocked the motorway this morning.

Lane one of the M27 westbound after junction 9 at Whiteley was shut while the tree was cleared.

Drivers faced delays of about 15 minutes when this incident happened at 9.30am.

Earlier, a fallen tree had blocked all lines between Swanwick and St Deny's train stations. The rail route is now clear.
