Man charged with attempted kidnap after Portsmouth schoolgirl followed

Detectives have charged a man with attempted kidnap with intent to commit a sexual offence this morning.

Roger Seath, 41, of no fixed address, has also been charged with possession of a bladed article.

He is being held in custody, police said.

The charge comes after police received a report of a suspicious man following and trying to stop and talk to a 14-year-old girl on Kent Road just before 4pm on Wednesday.
