Man escapes from upside down car in Wickham

A MAN was taken to hospital with minor injuries after his car flipped in a car accident.

The driver suffered a facial and arm injuries in the crash in Mayles Lane, Wickham, which caused delays.

A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said: ‘We received a call at 1.13pm regarding a single-car accident in which the car had been turned upside down.

‘The patient at the scene was described as “walking wounded”.

‘His injuries were considered minor but he was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham.’

A fire appliance from Wickham fire station attended the scene.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service said: ‘The man was treated at the scene before he was passed over to the care of the ambulance service.’

Earlier in the day, services were also called to an incident involving two vehicles in Hoad’s Hill in Wickham.

A woman was released after firefighters cut through the car roof.
