Founding trustee Bernard Stanley says that the upkeep of buildings like The Elms is expensive, and that fundraising events like the annual tea party are vital to the prosperity of the trust.

‘We’ve been holding the tea parties for the last 50 years, and they’re now a part of the annual calendar in Bedhampton,’ he said.

Built in the 17th century, The Elms - which is a Grade II-listed building - houses apartments for the elderly cared for by the trust, as well as the Bedhampton Historic Collection of local artefacts.
