Marie Curie says thank you for donations

HAMPSHIRE nurses are thanking donors for their support of the 30th anniversary of the Great Marie Curie Appeal.

The month-long appeal encouraged people to donate and to wear a daffodil pin.

Marie Curie volunteers in Portsmouth raised £1,075.77, including at the Cascades Shopping Centre.

A further £294.30 was raised at the branch in Palmerston Road, Southsea.

The charity wants to thank those volunteers and supporters.

Wendy Savage, community fundraiser, said: ‘We would like to say a big thank you to everyone in Hampshire for getting behind the daffodil, by donating or by being one of our amazing volunteers.

‘By supporting the appeal and funding Marie Curie Nursing Hours, you’re bringing care and support to people living with a terminal illness, as well as peace of mind and a chance to rest for their families.’
