NOSTALGIA: Do you remember the punk movement in Portsmouth?

Pompey punks have been celebrating 40 years of the musical movement - but what are your memories of punk culture in Portsmouth?

Since March the Portsmouth Cultural Trust has been working with 30 young people on the Provincial Punk in Pompey project, and last week held a live music event at the Guildhall to celebrate the anniversary.

As part of the project Ken Brown, who used to run the Safety in Numbers punk fanzine in Portsmouth, has shared with us some pictures of what is believed to be the first ‘punk’ event in the area, held at Homewell in Havant.

The pictures show punks of all ages gather to socialise and enjoy some live music.
