LOVE doesn’t stop for anything.
That's why despite all the last-minute changes, so many people from across the Portsmouth area made sure their weddings went ahead during last year’s Covid-19 restrictions.
We recently took to Facebook to ask happy couples to share with us photos of their special and unexpectedly unique wedding days.
Monika married in March, 2020. She said: 'We didn’t have a reception as our venue couldn’t accommodate, so we all went for a curry! Best wedding breakfast any of us ever had! We also had to use my cousin as a photographer as ours could make it. She has a degree in photography so that was very handy! Everyone chipped in to make our day so special.' Photo: Monika King
Lorraine married on 04.03.20. She said: 'Married in Gibraltar 04.03.20. Just managed to fly home before they closed their border.' Photo: Lorraine Hartley
Jade and Jake married on 26.9.20. Jade said: '26th September we got married at Portsmouth Register Office. Not the wedding we planned, but we made the most of it.' Photo: Jade Hylands
Fenella married on 12.12.20. She said: 'Our wedding was planned for September and the March this year, but we were not hopeful so we just booked a small wedding with just two witnesses on the 12.12.2020. We finally did it - we have been together seven years and finally tied the knot.' Photo: Fenella Thorpe
