Aspiring TV producer benefits from bursary
A BUDDING student has been funded to follow his dreams in TV production.
Charlie Schultz, from Hayling Island, was awarded a bursary from the Royal Television Society.
Undergraduate grants of £1,000 per year will go towards Charlie’s studies for a BA in television production at Bournemouth University.
Charlie, 22, felt ‘extremely honoured and elated’ to be one of 27 recipients to receive the boost from the RTS.
He said: ‘I have always had an immense passion for the industry, particularly television and feel privileged to now be a part of such a prestigious and respected society.
‘I have great aspirations for the future and am excited to embark on all the amazing opportunities that being a recipient will offer.’
On top of his funding, Charlie is also eligible for one year’s free membership to the society after graduating, and mentoring opportunities in his final year of study.
Theresa Wise, CEO of RTS, said: ‘We are committed to supporting UK undergraduates seeking to work in television and its related fields.’
‘Since its launch in 2014 we have provided vital support to 45 talented individuals – offering not only the bursary itself but also mentoring and access to contacts within the broadcasting industry.’
