Cockapoo pup that went missing near Denmead is found safe and well

Kaiya, a ginger cockapoo, went missing on Monday, February 1 in Creech Woods, near Denmead.

According to reports, a child screamed in the pup’s face while she was on a walk with a day care service, and she ran away in fear.

This morning, Kaiya reappeared in the car park near the woodland area, and has been reunited with mum Becky Goff.

Becky, 27 from Havant, said: ‘I’ve been up there all hours of the day and night looking for her, and so have many other people.

‘She was with day care when a child came up and screamed in her face, she must have been terrified and ran off.

‘Kaiya had never been there before so would have got lost very easily.

‘I don’t blame the day care service for it though, this could have happened to anyone and they’ve been brilliant throughout this whole thing.’

Kaiya, who is six months old, has since been taken to the vets for a check-up.

When Becky posted on social media that her puppy had gone missing, the post went viral, with thousands of people sharing it with their friends and many others joining the search.

‘I was overwhelmed, to be honest,’ said the mother-of-two.

‘The community has been amazing and I don’t think we could have found her without the generosity of so many people.

‘I’m so thankful for each and every one of them, from people who shared the on Facebook to people who came out and looked for her.

‘She’s back home now and that means absolutely everything to us.’
