Cosham family decorate street in preparation for VE Day anniversary

The mark the occasion, residents can take part in a number of street games including bingo and a pub style quiz. Professional singer, Miranda Williamson, who lives on the street, will be transporting her neighbours back to the 1940’s with renditions of wartime classic songs.

Natalie said: ‘I think such events are important on two levels. Firstly, it’s vital we remember the veterans who ensured we had a VE Day, but at this difficult time it’s also important for communities to have something to celebrate.

‘The pandemic has certainly seen people coming together through community spirit.’
