A colourful, carefully coloured in image of Captain Tom, who died on February 2 at the age of 100, was created by thoughtful five-year-old Vegas Edwards.

Proud mum Katherine Edwards helped Vegas get her touching artwork displayed in the window of their local One Stop store.

Vegas watched a few videos of the fundraising campaign for the NHS and showed great interest in the hard work shown by Captain Tom to support the NHS through the pandemic.

Katherine said: ‘It goes to show even as young as just five years old Vegas is aware of what an incredible human is no matter of the age or race, and that kindness and strong people can be portrayed and exist in the world at such dark challenging times the whole world is going through.

‘Vegas is a very calm, generous, bright, thoughtful, loving little soul who adores animals and always has such a touching little heart and mind when it comes to putting her special touch on her creations.’
