Friends to take on the three peaks for charity

A group of five friends from the Portsmouth area are getting ready to take on the National Three Peak Challenge in June to raise money for charity.

The NET Patient Foundation works with people with neuroendocrine cancer, a rare cancer of the hormonal and nervous systems.

The challenge consists of climbing Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in the Lake District and Ben Nevis in Scotland within a 24-hour period.

Syreeta Boulton, who is part of the team taking on the challenge, said: ‘This is a really rare cancer and we are supporting our friend Leanne Baldry who is currently receiving treatment.’

They are holding a ‘mini Peak challenge’ on May 22, which will involve climbing Kings Vale, Winchester and end at the summit of Butser Hill near Petersfield.

The group have hit their £500 fundraising target, but are looking to raise more.
