Next Thursday – November 17 – would have been Julie’s 57th birthday, so her family are coming together to hold a charity fundraiser in her memory at the Fareham Working Men’s Club in Mill Road, Fareham, two days later.

Julie’s daughter Jodie Elliott told The News: ‘We want to have a happy occasion in memory of mum.

‘It will be around the time of her birthday and we know that she would not want us to be feeling all down about it.

‘She would want people to have fun and to remember
all their happy memories of her.’

The event is in aid of charity Brake, which helps those who have lost loved ones through traffic road accidents.

There will be competitions, games and a raffle amongst other things at next Saturday’s event.

The 25-year-old added: ‘We want it to be an amazing night for everyone and raise as much money as we can.

‘If we can raise enough money to help support a few families through the toughest times or prevent one death on the road then I will be happy.’

She said that Brake had ‘done wonders’ for the family, especially her daughter Maisie, six.

Jodie said: ‘It really took its toll on her but Brake have helped her and the rest of us so much.

‘They’ve done all they can and really helped her understand what happened so we want to be able to pay them back for what they’ve provided for us.’

Those wishing to come to the event are asked to contact Jodie to confirm their attendance to the event.

She can be reached on 07557 539853. It starts at 7pm.
