A rehoming charity for dogs and cats is desperately seeking loving homes for the animals in their care – here are 9 pets looking for a home.
They have recently posted to Facebook that the team are desperately looking for people to become the new owners of the beautiful pets they have – or to become foster owners.
Here are 9 dogs and cats that are currently looking for their forever home in Hampshire:
Here are 9 dogs and cats that are currently looking for their forever home in Hampshire:
5. Bessy, Southampton
Bessy is a 1 1/2 year old small side of medium size sweet little girl, she is loving and gentle and she is now looking for a calm and relaxing home.
Bessy loves to play with her ball, and she is quite happy lazing around on the sofa.
She sleeps brilliantly all night in her crate, and usually wakes up around 7am with an excited squeal.
Bessy walks well on the lead and her confidence grows more everyday and she is currently living with 6 other dogs and gets on well with them all.
She also lives happily with two cats and has no interest in them.
Bessy is very unsure of visitors that she doesn’t know, she will take her self away into her safe place, which is usually behind something or in her crate, she is nervous of children so would benefit a home with older children only.
She is very easy to read and will let you know if she feels threatened or uncomfortable.
The adoption fee is £225 and to see what this includes, visit the charity's website. Photo: Phoenix Rehoming
These Labrador, Shar Pei crosses are 6 years old and it is important they stay together to have each other’s company for playtime and for snuggles and comfort. Chong can often be seen sat on Cheech.
Cheech is a chilled out old soul who loves cuddles and attention whereas Chong is more anxious and will choose when to come to you for a chest rub. They have had a few years without regular walking so the volunteers at Phoenix Rehoming have been working on getting them used to walking and being on a lead. They will be capable of long walks but you would need to build their fitness up gradually. They could also do with shedding a few pounds which exercise will hopefully help with.
They are both reactive to dogs in their own way. Chong was attacked by another dog a few years ago. The team have made some progress with this and they feel further training and a calm, patient human will help them improve more. They have seen cats, birds and horses on their walks and do not pay them any attention.
They have both loved all the people they have met. They grew up in a home with children who were 6 and 11 years old when the dogs arrived at 6 months old.
They are fully house trained and they have never used a crate but are happy to sleep together on their bed downstairs.
It takes them a little while to settle when they are left home alone but can be left for a few hours.
The adoption fee will be £225 for both of the dogs and for more information visit the charity's website. Photo: Phoenix Rehoming
Stanlee is a 2-year-old collie cross girl. Around 17kg. She is exceptionally smart and enjoys learning. Please read her advert very carefully. She will now be looking for a home with someone who has some experience with rescue dogs and/or interest in dog sports. Stanlee will thrive doing agility, Hoopers, heel work, trick training, Canix or similar. She is an exceptionally smart dog and needs an equally smart owner. She has completed a two-day scent work course and is progressing into the next agility course. Stanlee has been trained with clicker. She will also work on a marker word. This girl works for dust, she is exceptionally motivated. She’s come such a long way since being surrendered and she’s now ready to find her forever home. She can be anxious around new people initially. She sees strangers and will sometimes bark. This is all fear based, she is worried about their intentions. She is wary of strangers coming into the home and will bark to begin with, but this quickly changes. She has learned to go quietly to her bed where she knows she is safe. We are now in a position where Stanlee can learn to like people quite quickly, in just a couple of sessions at her pace. This makes her unsuitable for a home with young children. She would be ideally suited to a home with another playful male dog though could be an only dog. The adoption fee is £225 and to see what this cost includes, visit the charity's website.
