Portsmouth charity shop is selling expensive wedding dresses for £250 tomorrow

WOMEN looking to tie the knot can pick up a wedding dress worth thousands of pounds for a couple of hundred tomorrow.

The Naomi House and Jacksplace charity shop in North End, Portsmouth, is selling 15 wedding dresses for £150-£250 after receiving a donation from Anya Bridal Couture, based in Droxford.

Each dress would originally sell for almost £2,000.

Anya Murrell, owner of Anya’s Bridal Couture, said: ‘It’s lovely to know that my dresses are going to a good home, and I would rather they go to the wonderful charity that is Naomi House and Jacksplace who can benefit from them and make a difference.

‘I’m so proud to support the hospices and I hope the brides who purchase the dresses enjoy them on their special day.’

The bridal shop has supported has supported the charity for more than three years now, and have donated more than 50 wedding dresses to the charity.

John Egan, the charity’s head of retail, said: ‘We are delighted to be able to offer local brides-to-be the chance to buy a brand new, high quality wedding dress at a heavily discounted price from our North End charity shop.

‘The dresses will be on sale from tomorrow morning, and we advise anyone interested to visit the shop as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, as last year, they sold out at lightning speed.’

Naomi House and Jacksplace provides respite, emergency, end of life and bereavement support to children and young adults with life-threatening and limiting conditions.
