Portsmouth City Council says 2019 Portsmouth Glow Ride will not be rescheduled - but a summer event is planned

A POPULAR cycling event that was cancelled in 2019 because of bad weather will not be rescheduled, the council has said.

But Portsmouth City Council has today dismissed hopes it could be rescheduled for a date in 2020.

The authority said another event will go ahead in its place.

It said on Twitter: ‘Unfortunately due to the unpredictable winter weather we won't be rescheduling the 2019 Glow Ride.

The Glow Ride previously began at midday, going on until 7pm with a host of food, drink, music and contests for participants to enjoy.

It was supposed to take place on Saturday, October 26, 2019.
