Frankie and her three-year-old daughter Grace Cameron, from Eastney, have used their time at home to get artistic and have decorated around 30 stones with colourful images that are then distributed across two local parks.

The designs on the stones range from ladybirds to dinosaurs and are strategically placed to give people something fun to look for when walking in Bransbury Park and Milton Park.

Mum-of-two Frankie said they first had the idea around three weeks ago.

'We were inspired when we found a painted stone someone else had done on Eastney beach,' she said.

'My daughter Grace loved finding it so much and wanted to have her photo taken with it. And when we got home she asked if she could paint her own.

'Because of social distancing we wanted to start doing our daily walks closer to home so thought we could leave them in parks closer to us.

'The idea is to give people something to look out for and to make them smile. If you're going around the same areas all the time it could get a bit boring so this is something different. And part of our walk has been retracing our steps to see if they're still there. Grace finds it really exciting.'

Frankie, 32, has been furloughed from her job at SSE so has found the painting a fun activity to do with Grace.

She said: 'It's quite nice for me as well. We both spend time together painting them which we wouldn't have been able to do before.

'We've had some really nice feedback through our Facebook page with people sending pictures of them with the stones saying they made them smile.

'Grace understands that there are germs outside so she can't go outside so this has been a good way to keep her busy with crafts.'

Frankie also lives with her daughter Emily, who is almost one, and her husband Adam in Suffolk Road.
