FOLLOWING the leader of the council’s suggestion to charge a city tourist tax, readers have been quick to have their say.
In his role as chair of the Tourism Board for the Local Government Association (LGA), Cllr Gerald Vernon-Jackson suggested cities, potentially including Portsmouth, should levy a hotel surcharge to generate money to reinvest in the tourist industry.
