Social club for older people to hold party to mark first anniversary

A SOCIAL club for older people in Fareham is celebrating its first birthday with a get-together on Saturday.

The Saturday Fareham Friends, part of Hampshire charity Brendoncare, meets every Saturday afternoon at Fareham library, Osborn Road from 2pm to 4pm.

Members enjoy games, quizzes, guest speakers, cooking demonstrations and more, and the club offers older people a chance to meet new friends and enjoy a chat over refreshments.

The club was launched a year ago with support from Hampshire County Council and Hampshire Libraries Service, and has been growing in popularity ever since.

On Saturday, members will be joined by representatives from the council and the library to celebrate their first anniversary with a cake.
