It was sent to us by Neal Tuffs, who was amazed to see what seems to be a misty shroud in the picture taken in crystal clear light.

He said: ‘Is this a ghostly presence in Portchester Castle?

‘I took this earlier this year on a crisp sunny day, but there was nothing there when I took the picture!’

There are many legends of ghosts at the castle - mysterious monks and menacing horsemen are just some of the spooky sights said to have been seen there.
