The firm, run by James and Steven Davies, who are sons of the founders, has been a long supporter of the charity and they have raised almost £50,000 by completing marathons, sponsoring truck loads, plus more.

They also created a book called Fridge Too Far - The A-Z celebrating 50 years of Davies International about the history of the company to sell at the party, with all sales going directly to the charity.

Director Steven has been the passionate force behind raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity and is an ambassador for the charity.

He said: ‘We have been raising funds for GOSH for a while now and we thought our 50th year was a great chance to go big and aim to take the total to £50,000.

‘We have sold over 100 books now and have received great comments including what a great trip down memory lane the book has been.’

The firm has had its busiest year to date and it has used its business success to buy its premises, and redevelop its warehouse.

Director James said ‘We are so proud of the business our parents has formed, the reputation he built and the loyalty of the staff and other businesses we have worked with over the years. There are not many family businesses who are still going after 50 years, and we have some great plans for the next five.’
