Two women taken to hospital after coastguard rescue
and live on Freeview channel 276
A second woman, who was also in trouble, managed to get herself ashore before both casualties were taken to hospital by ambulance.
In a statement released by the Coastguard a spokeswoman said: ‘We received multiple 999 calls earlier this evening to report that two women were in difficulty in the sea off Sandown Bay.

Hide Ad‘The Coastguard helicopter, Sandown Lifeboat, Bembridge and Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Teams, police and ambulance all attended the scene. One woman was rescued from the sea and brought to shore by the lifeboat, whilst the other self-recovered.’
