Picture gallery: Titchfield Carnival
Titchfield Carnival is a long-standing cultural community event which has been run by the Titchfield Bonfire Boys Society since 1880.
The carnival saw two processions of floats and fancy dress walkers, one at 3pm and one at 6.45pm, a funfair and the lighting of a beacon on Barry’s Meadow.

Hide AdA competition was held for the best-dressed house, with 28 High Street winning best residential and Solo Hair Studio winning best business, Punch and Judy shows were held at the Parish Rooms, a classic car show wowed crowds and a collection of live performances, including carnival calypso music from Alex de Great and a show from Wickham Baggies Morris Dancers, kept the crowd entertained.
Lily Mae Hands was crowned the carnival princess by Fareham MP Suella Fernandes.
Organiser Kate Scott said: ‘It’s been a great show, We had more than 20 floats and over 80 classic cars in the cavalcade. There’s been good crowds and good times.’
The non-profit-making event also raised funds for a range of good causes including the Community Luncheon Club, Titchfield Primary School and the Sea Scouts.
