Due to the high level  of interest, Fareham Borough Council will give residents until October 15 to have their say on measures aimed at reducing nitrogen dioxide levels.

The consultation lists 11 steps the council could make to improve air quality including making buses and taxis greener, encouraging more cycling and walking and promoting public transport.

Another possible measure is the introduction of a charging Clean Air Zone.
