Denmead Junior School wins praise from MP for its '˜transformation'

A JUNIOR school has been praised by an MP after it went from special measures to a good Ofsted rating in just two years.

Meon Valley MP George Hollingbery praised Denmead Junior School, its headteacher Elaine Viner and her team for the progress when he recently toured facilities at the Bere Road site.

On his visit he heard that Denmead was short of pupils for the next year and he urged parents to make sure they consider the school.

‘This is now a quite fabulous school full of engaged pupils, super teachers and good facilities, and it really is a transformation,’ said Mr Hollingbery.

‘I would like to thank Elaine and her team for their super work to turn it around in such a short space of time. I’m sure it was a challenge but it’s now a school everyone can be proud of.’
