Give your thoughts on improving a town centre

PEOPLE are urged to give their thoughts on plans to improve a town centre.

Fareham Borough Council is asking residents what they think about the local authority’s suggestions for how the town centre should be reshaped over the coming years.

The vision for the town includes the construction of hundreds of homes, a new arts and cultural facility, wider choice of shops and restaurants and changes to parking provision.

A public exhibition was held in West Street, Fareham on Saturday and residents are urged to attend a second one in Ferneham Hall today between 2pm and 7pm.

A third event will also take place in the market area of West Street on Monday between 9am and 3pm.

Councillor Keith Evans, executive member for planning on the council said: ‘The town centre is the community retail, and cultural heart of the borough and we want to make sure it meets everyone’s needs for years to come.’
