Gosport MP urges couples to check marriage allowance eligibility
AN MP is urging people to check if they are eligible for marriage allowance.
The scheme lets someone transfer £1,000 of their personal allowance to their husband, wife or civil partner if they earn more than them, saving up to £220 from their tax bill.
Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage said: ‘Marriage allowance can create savings for so many couples.
‘I’d encourage everyone to see if they are eligible and, if so, to apply straight away,’
